Kyrgyzstan

In the former Soviet states in Central Asia that are now independent countries, the collapse of communism was accompanied by the implosion of many social services and many basic forms of local government. While Tajikistan remains one of the poorest of the former Soviet republics and is one of the world's very poor countries, neighbouring Kyrgyzstan is slightly better off, Still it has many problems that much of the world knows nothing about in this isolated patch of the globe.
